October 16th, Dreams & Nightmares Ticket Price cut, and Why

From the Desk of NAP owner Jordan Rose

How You What

I always find articles like these where it’s all formal so boring, so I’m going to write this as close as I can to how I would actually say it if you heard me talking in real life (this also makes up for any grammar and punctuation issues cause we ain’t got an editor lol) That cool? Great.

Ahem

Life right now is pretty damn hard and most of you don’t need me to tell you that because you’re living it.

For most of us our back is against the wall staring in the mouth of a prize pony where therein lies a looming global recession, growing tensions against various marginalized communities, and hey is that the housing market crashing before our very eyes? With the wall, we’re all up against our usual toxic cocktail of bills, lack of time for socializing and finding new interests, and the ever-looming growing self-realization of our own anxieties.

It is rough out here, so why have attending an independent wrestling show be one of the worries?

Naptown All-Pro was started out of the desire to bring wrestling to communities that need it in an effort to give an alternative way to spend time away from potentially dangerous activities. The biggest problem it putting something like this on is that it costs money to run wrestling shows (shocking I know). From the venue, ring, and amenity rental, to getting flights for various talents, to making sure that every person on the card receives what they ask for, and then when it’s all said and done making sure there’s enough to plan for the next project and often donating to charitable funds there’s quite a lot we need money to do. If it was up to us the shows would be free to all we could fit in the building but alas we are simply not built like that.

So we created Sponsor-A-Seat as a way to try to offset costs we would have in just straight up giving away tickets to shows and the community followed suit supporting us when they could and we appreciate it so much. An issue we saw arising however was that people could donate the $10 to get a kid to come but couldn’t justify paying $20 to attend the show for themselves and that really just doesn’t sit right with us

We here at TeamNAP are students of the game. We look far and wide for inspiration and study and we’re inspired a ton by classic wrestling of the territories like the CWA, the work of Sam Muchnick in St Louis, and even further to the first few years of Heyman-era ECW into 96/97, to where Wrestling was the theater of the working person. A true melting pot where you could see rich & poor folk of all manner of cultural backgrounds from the smallest elementary school kid to the eldest retirees, all enjoying the same product, you can see it in the video clip. That’s what we want NAP to be, the intersection of our city's community through art and combat. And if $20 tickets are going to get in the way of that… then I guess we gotta change some things

So for our Sunday, October 16th show Dreams & Nightmares which for all intents and purposes is the biggest show we’ve ever run, here are the changes to ticket prices

  • Front Row tickets are down to $20 instead of $30

  • Second Row tickets are now $15 instead of $25

  • General Admission Tickets are $10 down from $20

  • To get VIP Preliminary Tickets is only $5 more

That’s right it’s now only $10 to purchase a ticket to NAP Dreams & Nightmares. Now keep in mind these are PRESALE TICKET PRICES ONLY, so on the day of the price of each ticket at the door will increase by $5. For those people who have already purchased tickets, we will be providing you with a signed Dreams & Nightmares poster for being an early supporter absolutely free of charge. We literally cannot make it any cheaper than this without drowning ourselves.

In addition to that VENDOR SPOTS are still available at PAY WHAT YOU CAN PRICING

Spots have already begun to get snatched up by artists, brands, and community organizations of all manner from across the state. Message us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter for more information on vendor spots

Please take advantage of this deal as we offer it because we cannot guarantee that we can continue to offer these prices going forward but as the winter gets colder we want to do our part to provide safe, authentic, dramatic, and affordable Independent Wrestling Combat for residents of Indianapolis and beyond.
