Silphium is a now extinct, ancient greek and roman super plant, which was used to treat fever, indigestion, aches & pains, and most notably was used as a contraceptive.

As the plant was harvested more aggressively and valued higher by those in power it fell into extinction. At one time worth its weight in gold, Silphium is now worth only as a footnote in history due to it simply not being around, when it could be helping tons worldwide
